Turkey threatens everyone – French MP

Turkey threatens everyone – French MP

PARIS. – Former French Minister and Union for Popular Movement (UMP) MP Patrick Devedjian expressed regret over Turkey’s threats adding ‘it is not a state of human rights’, French Le Figaro reports referring to France-Presse agency.
“Turkey is a state, which threatens everyone,” MP of the Armenian descent told Radio France Inter recalling threats against Israel, Cyprus, Greece.
“I believe in the Turkish society. Turkey has a Noble Prize winner Orhan Pamuk, but is unfortunately persecuting him, as the latter claims that the Armenian Genocide is a fact,” the MP from Hauts-de-Seine added. “We demand that should Turkey stop denial propaganda in our state.”
“This is a political action. When Turkey wants to be a part of the EU and behaves as state protecting human rights, the law allows expressing Turkey’s position in the international arena, therefore displaying that Turkey is not a state of human rights,” Devedjian said expressing support for the bill passed by the French National Assembly.
